Visit GoStats.com and click on “Sign Up” located on the left side of the page below user name and password
Fill in all the fields and click “sign up”
When you sign up, you will be able to add your site(s)
Click on “Add new site” and fill out the fields
You can add as many sites as you want
After adding your site(s), click on “Get Code” – if this does not show up, then go to “My sites”, located on the left side of the page
Under your site(s) listed are several options, click on “get code”
You’re given four choices of counter styles (if you don’t want the counter visible, consider upgrading to GoStats Pro) there are plenty of styles and colors to choose from
Choose one and click on it
You will be taken to a page with the counter code. Copy the second counter code - HTML counter codeThere are different instructions based on the Style system you are using. To check your style system go to Journal Display, click on “Basics” – it’s under Style System

Refresh your blog page and voilà your hit counter should be visible
Now you can sit back and continue blogging
Don’t forget to view your stats, you can do this by accessing your GoStats account, and click on “my sites” and “stats”
If you choose to receive weekly emails from GoStats about your hits, please add support@gostats.com to your safe email addresses to prevent it from ending up in your Spam folder

Return to Xanga and under “Edit” Click on “Look and Feel”
Scroll down to “Website Stats”
Paste GoStats code into the box
To Preview the GoStats counter on your page click on “Preview”
Click “Save Changes” to save your GoStats counterRefresh your blog page and voilà your hit counter should be visible
Now you can sit back and continue blogging

Return to Dashboard on Blogger
Click on your blog and then on to Template
The template page will bring up all your html code for your blog
There are several places that you can place your counter
If you want to place it on your side bar find the code: <!-- End sidebar --> </div >
Above this, paste the copied code
If you want to place it at the bottom of the page find the code: </body> </html>
Above this paste the copied code
To center the counter add <center> before the GoStats code and </center> after the GoStats code
After placing your code in its desired spot fully update your blog
Refresh your blog page and voilà your hit counter should be visible
Now you can sit back and continue blogging

If you have not yet added any sites to your GoStats profile account do the following:
log in to your stats account
click on “add sites”
Fill in the information for your site.
Be sure to only block your computer from counting if you really want to. (it’s difficult to determine if your counter is working when your own hits are blocked from registering.)
Take note of whether you want to password protect your webstat pages (at the bottom of the form) If you don’t want anyone to see your stats you should activate this option.
Get the counter code
click on “my sites”
click on “get code”
Select the counter style that you would like. Hint: scroll down to the bottom of the first page to see: the “Top 3” counter styles selected by people who enjoy GoStats
Once you have finished customizing your counter, copy one of the two available code types. It is recommended to install the first type first and only revert to the second type if the first one doesn’t work for you.
Install the code
Paste your new code into the HTML source of your website page. It is highly recommended to insert the code into all pages in your site to that you can use GoStats to it’s fullest. Verify your counter code
once you have installed your code, log into your account and click on “my sites”
click on “verify code” for your site
You will see a resulting message indicating if your code has been properly installed or not.
Now that you have fully installed your counter, sit back and let your hits roll in. If you are looking for more hits, perhaps try discussing this topic in the GoStats message board. If you cannot install your web tracking code into yoru page, please try the support ticket system. If you cannot log in, as a last resort, you can email GoStats support
